Anna and Brett's NC Vineyard Wedding

James and I feel so honored when we are trusted to film and edit a wedding.

Putting together a video is like handwriting. Everyone writes differently. So we feel especially blessed when someone connects to our handwriting.

As we sat down and thought through Anna and Brett's Vineyard Wedding it became very clear where we would start. Anna's sister sang a song during the ceremony that perfectly captured the heart of the entire day. That's what I love about editing! Editing allows you to layer moments so the emotion and purpose of the celebration can be seen more clearly.

Anna and Brett were an absolute joy to work with. We are so excited to share their film with you!

What we loved about their wedding: There was SO much to love about this wedding, but if I had to choose I would say I really loved filming Anna and her girls right before the ceremony. I loved meeting all her bridesmaids and I LOVED how they passed the time before the ceremony by singing their favorite songs from their favorite animated movies. Along with "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from the Lion King, there was also a lovely rendition of  "Why Should I Worry?" from Oliver and Company!

Also Anna's grandmother! Anna's grandmother is an inspiration. I feel like we could have made a short film just about her.  From her wonderful smile to her moves on the dance floor, she is so happy to be alive. We want to be like her when we grow up!

A bit of wisdom from the wedding: If you are concerned about your wedding day flying by too quickly, consider creating a moment during the day when you and your spouse can look around and really take in all the joy of your celebration. For Anna and Brett that moment was during the ceremony when Anna's Sister sang the song "I See Heaven" by Bryan & Katie Torwalt. Anna and Brett took that moment to pray together and to look around and appreciate all their friends and family who had come to celebrate with them.

(Side note: If you are looking for a DJ who can rock the party AND make sure your live ceremony music goes well then you should take the time to meet Dan Etzler of On Target DJ, He is a DJ who works in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point.  Good DJ's help us get great sound and make our editing lives SO much easier. We can't say enough good things about Dan.)

While we were editing: Let the wedding filming season begin! Our weekends are full of celebrations that span the state, from Bald Head Island all the way to Asheville. In the hustle and bustle of wedding season I always remind myself to take in the small moments. We love exploring new places, but we also love the comfort of sipping coffee on our front porch. It's interesting how traveling makes us love home and being home makes us love traveling. For us, it has been important to realize that where we are is important and were we are going is important too.

In the past I've felt guilty and falsely subject to the grass-is-always-greener-elsewhere mentality... especially when life is busy. If I can just get to this point... if I can just do that one thing... then I'll feel accomplished... then I'll feel content. What I've come to learn is that tension between where I am and where I am going isn't a bad thing. Both moments are important, because you can't have one without the other. When I take time to see the value in each moment, it's easier to appreciate and even enjoy the tension of those busy seasons.
