Laxmi and Sam: A Museum of Life and Science Wedding Video

We were honored when Laxmi and Sam reached out to us to film their wedding, because these two love documentary films. When we met, our conversation quickly turned to topics like Film Festivals (specifically the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, NC) camera gear, and perceptive questions about how we capture audio during the wedding day. Their attention to the detailed mechanics of story telling thrilled James and me. It was such a pleasure to create a film for two people who understand and love the art documentary film-making as much as we do. On top of all this Laxmi and Sam have such a beautiful love story. It needed to be told.

Alyssa and Josh: A The Preston Woodall House Wedding Video

We met Alyssa and Josh and immediately felt like we had known them our whole lives! These two are filled with a love for life that is contagious. The story of how they met, and how their relationship developed through long distances and many love letters emphasized the pure joy and anticipation leading up to this wedding day.

This film is exactly why we fell in love with Good Earth Films to begin with! The special moments shown in this video make us feel as if we are right back on November 21st about to walk down the aisle. So many little surprises showed up in this video and it left us watching it over and over last night.

Ashton and Coard: A L’Abri at Linwood Wedding Video

Ashton and Coard bring so much peace and light into this world. From the first moment we met them at Krankie's Coffee House in Downtown Winston-Salem we felt such a joy in their presence. We loved capturing the precious moments they shared with their family and friends on their wedding day. Ashton's Daddy's toast still makes me tear up every time I watch their film! It is such a blessing to have good friends.

Oh my goodness!! Words cannot describe how excited I am to get this email! Coard and I just watched at work and cried at our desks. This was 100% worth the investment and the wait. You and James captured everything so beautifully and all I want to do is watch it over and over again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us a tangible memory of that day. We are so thankful!

Ellie and Logan: A Morning Glory Farm Wedding Video

We just loved that Ellie's grandfather made a video to share with everyone at the reception! Turns out it is quite the tradition. Ellie has two older sisters and her grandfather created videos for each of their wedding celebrations. He continued the tradition with Ellie and Logan's wedding, and he did a fantastic job! We were excited that we could incorporate moments from his film into the one we created for Ellie and Logan. As people who treasure capturing moments on video we respect all the time it took him to edit those moments together. It was so much fun to watch her grandfather react to the laughter and applause from the crowd. He should be well pleased with his work.

We take a moment to credit him with finding all the great archival footage we used :)

Thank you so much!! We love it and are so glad you two are the ones who were filming our wedding. It is beautiful!

Kayla and Jacob: A Hendersonville NC Wedding Video

Kayla and Jacob’s wedding film starts with the proposal video Jacob made. They shared the video with us when we first met them for cupcakes to talk about their wedding plans. We fell in love with the sweet moment Jacob was able to capture, mostly because Kayla and Jacob are so sweet and just so excited— but also because we happen to have a soft spot in our heart for the music playing in the background :) God Bless The Rains!

We love it so much! It captures the entire day perfectly and we were smiling and laughing every minute!
— Kayla

What we loved about their wedding: Celebrating with Kayla and Jacob was such a blessing. We can't decide what was more special. Even before the clouds cleared and the sun filled the sky these two were emitting a light of their own!

A fun thing the couple did: Sunset photos! The rain left behind the most beautiful sunset. Photos at sunset are so beautiful! If you can swing it, slip away from your reception for just 10 minutes to dance and snuggle in the sunset. There is something magical about those moments outside right before the sun sets :)

Chris and David: A Charlotte NC Wedding Video

Chris and David met at summer camp when they were 16 years old! It was such a joy to attend Chris and David’s rehearsal dinner and document all of the special stories their friends and family shared. We laughed and we cried along with Chris and David as each person shared their love for this couple.

Alex, tears!!!!!!! Well worth the wait to watch it!! Thank you so much, we will cherish this forever! So many surprises too, which is unbelievable! THANK YOU!
— Chris

A bit of wisdom from the wedding day: Chris and David opted to eat their meal in a room away from guests. The cool thing about this is that they were able to have a moment that was truly just the two of them. They were also able to actually eat, and it didn’t really slow down the timeline at all. Before we knew it they were back down stairs at the party socializing with all of their guests. Because they were able to eat uninterrupted they were actually able to spend more time with their guests.

Sarah and Paul's NC Adaumont Farm Wedding

James and I love editing weddings because the process is such a beautiful reminder of the unique stories we are all living. We love finding the connections from moment to moment as we recount what it felt like to be at a wedding.

Being at Sarah and Paul’s wedding was such a joy. And for anyone who is dreading a cloudy wedding day, don’t despair The sky can still be a perfect backdrop for an awesome day.

What we loved about their wedding: A moment of joy and hope isn't made in isolation. It's the combination of all our life experiences that teach us to trust that those moments… those really good moments in our life aren’t just good for us… somehow they are good for everyone.

I'm talking about more than beautiful flowers, and lovely table decor. I'm talking about the kind of beautiful emotion that happens with or without the perfect weather - with or without flowers - with or without a white dress. I'm talking about the kinds of moments that go beyond weddings. The kind of moments we've all experienced that tell us that our life matters. The kind of moments that assure us, despite any doubts, that no matter how life plays out, we've never been and never will be alone.

These thoughts resonate as we reflect on Sarah and Paul's wedding.

I think it's because as we watched Sarah make the call to pack up the ceremony and bring it indoors, our hearts were encouraged because she refused to let it ruin the day. Sarah and Paul’s wedding day was filled with beautiful moments that had been building up for years. We LOVE that the bad weather and change of ceremony location didn’t steal their joy.

Oh! And we also loved singing along to OutKast, because “Hey Ya” takes me right back to high school.

Oh! And how could I forget that amazing father & daughter dance?

There were lots of things to love.

A bit of wisdom from the wedding: Having a hard time picking a cake flavor? Why not lots of little cakes!!! Sarah and Paul had a table full of delicious cakes from MAXIE B’s. Yum!
